//”Page to Stage”: Creative Theatrical Design// A mini scenography session with Angela Howell
Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

About the class:
Angela has selected the show Cabaret as a theme for this workshop. In this 2-hour, hands-on class we will be designing costumes and scenery. We will discuss the design process, working with a director and design team, finding a metaphor, creating a world, wants versus needs, and ways to express thoughts visually.
No artistic experience is required, and all skill levels are welcome. It will be helpful if everyone is familiar with the musical prior to the beginning of class. All ages that would attend a performance of Cabaret (PG13) are welcome to attend the class.

About the teacher:
Angela Howell is the Technical Director and Interim Director of Theatre at Gannon University. She has a BA in Theater from Gannon and an MFA in Scenography from University of North Carolina Greensboro. Much of her career has been focused in costume design although she has dabbled in nearly all aspects of live entertainment. Angela worked at creative costuming in Walt Disney World, as the costume designer at the Erie Playhouse, as a theater and art teacher for the YMCA, and had an early mid-life crisis performing on Disney Cruise Line.
